The 2026 season is really taking shape, school is about to begin, and August is packed with important dates for the Band of Fury! This month’s newsletter includes an update from Mr. Tillman, our August calendar, InstaRaise progress, volunteer opportunities, rehearsal reminders, Fair Share information, required student forms, and an exciting first look at our newly redesigned uniforms.

Leading The Pack: An Update From Mr. Tillman
Band Families,
The 2026 Pack production is really beginning to take shape, and I couldn’t be more excited about what our students are accomplishing! At every rehearsal, I continue to be impressed by their work ethic, positive attitudes, and commitment to excellence. If this pace continues, I truly believe this has the potential to be our best marching show yet.
Movement 1 is now on the field, and we have already begun learning Movement 2 of 4. The students are making tremendous progress, and it is exciting to watch the show come to life!
As we prepare for the start of school, here are a few important reminders.

Weekly Marching Band Rehearsals
Once school begins, marching band rehearsals will be held:
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:00–6:45 PM
Please plan to pick up your student within 15 minutes of rehearsal ending.
The rehearsal scheduled for Thursday, August 6, is canceled for that date only due to Orientation and Meet the Teacher. Our regular rehearsal schedule will begin with the start of school.
Please refer to the Band of Fury Calendar throughout the season for rehearsal dates, performances, and schedule updates.
Band Handbook
As we transition into the school year, please review the Band Handbook at BandOfFury.com, especially the sections covering:
- Summer uniform expectations
- Football game etiquette
- Competition uniform requirements
Your support in helping students follow these expectations allows our rehearsals and performances to run safely and smoothly.
Syllabus Forms
Once school begins, please complete and return all syllabus forms as soon as possible.
Student Supply Reminder
Please make sure your student brings the following items to class and rehearsals:
- Instrument in good working condition
- Reeds and/or valve oil, as applicable
- Plastic sheet protectors
- Pencils
- Three-ring binder with sheet protectors
Having these supplies ready on the first day will help students remain organized and prepared for a successful marching and concert band season.
Medical and Field Trip Forms
We are still missing medical and field trip forms for several students. These forms are essential to keeping our students safe during rehearsals, performances, and trips.
Please review the current form-status list and submit any missing forms as soon as possible.

Keeping The Pack On Track: Dates, Details, & Reminders
FIHS Orientation Details - All Grades
Thursday, August 6
- 10th Grade: 9a-11a
- 11th Grade: 1p-3p
- 12th Grade: 2p-4p
- 9th Grade Family Orientation: 5p-7p Presentation at 5:30p
We will have a band booth setup throughout orientation with merch available for all. Be sure to stop by the Band Booth to say Hello and get a first look at some of this season’s merch!
Fountain Inn High School Fury Parade
Friday, August 14
Call Time: 4:00 PM in the Band Room
Uniform: Summer Uniform
Summer uniform shirts will be distributed before the parade. Please consult the Band Handbook on the Band of Fury website for complete summer uniform expectations.
InstaRaise Fundraiser Approaches the Finish Line
Our InstaRaise campaign ends Monday, August 10, and together we have already raised just over $11,000!
The success of this fundraiser depends on reaching as many potential supporters as possible. Families can help during the final stretch by:
- Helping students upload contacts
- Sharing each student’s personal fundraising link through social media, text, and email
- Sharing the link more than once so supporters who missed the first post have another opportunity to participate
- Explaining how donations help provide equipment, uniforms, travel, competition fees, instrument maintenance, and meaningful student experiences like our upcoming BOA Regional Competition
Every contact, share, and donation matters. Many contributions come from friends, relatives, coworkers, former teachers, church members, and supporters outside our immediate community.
Let’s finish strong and make this our most successful fundraiser yet!
Final Greenville Drive Opportunities of the Season
August will likely conclude our final Greenville Drive concession opportunities until next spring, as the Drive’s regular season is coming to an end.
Remaining dates include:
- Friday, August 7
- Saturday, August 8
- Friday, August 21
- Saturday, August 22
These events are a fun way for families to support the Band of Fury. If you have been hoping to participate, this month is likely your last chance this season!

Pit Crew Updates: Help Bring the Show to Life
This will be the most ambitious production the Band of Fury’s Pit Crew has ever undertaken, featuring more props and moving pieces than any previous show.
With a production of this scale, our Pit Crew is placing a major emphasis on prop stability. Wind will always be unpredictable, so careful design, testing, and refinement are essential. Our goal is to provide students with a stable, reliable performance environment where they can remain confident and focused entirely on bringing The Pack to life.
Throughout band camp, our Pit Crew has been hard at work refining prototypes and the band has been field-testing to evaluate their performance outdoors. We are ready to begin mass production before moving into the final rounds of testing and refinement.
The Pit Crew will hold two prop-building sessions on Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8. We will set up an assembly-line-style workspace at the school to:
- Build additional props for the production
- Prepare and add stabilizers to the existing prop supports
No special experience is required. We need volunteers willing to build, measure, paint, and help keep the work moving.
Volunteers who have any of the following tools available are encouraged to bring them:
- Angle grinders
- Screw guns, Drills, and drill bits
- Measuring tapes & hand tools
- Painting Supplies

Fair Share Payment Schedule
The 2026 Fair Share payment schedule is:
- May: $75
- June: $75
- July: $162.50
- August: $162.50
- September: $162.50
- October: $162.50
Families should have paid a total of $312.50 through July to stay on track. The August installment of $162.50 brings the scheduled total through August to $475.

The Pack Has a New Look
We are excited to reveal the newly redesigned Band of Fury uniforms!
The final design has been completed and the uniforms are on the way. The new look brings the identity of The Pack to life with a bold, dramatic style created specifically for this year’s production.
We cannot wait to see our students take the field in them!

Our Band Families
We would also like to thank everyone who attended our recent parent meeting and brought such thoughtful questions. The turnout, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved were encouraging signs of the incredible season ahead.
We are committed to respecting your busy schedules by getting volunteer opportunities loaded sooner and sharing more details on our calendar. Our ultimate goal is to reach a place where we are loading all opportunities and events for the month ahead. We know it won’t always be possible, but we will do our very best to give you as much time as we can to plan and prepare.
There are many ways to support the program, and we want every family to have an opportunity to participate in a way that works for them. The Band app provides a private, invitation-only space where current parents can ask questions, support each other, and connect with Board members, Staff, and other Band of Fury families.
Because this group is intended only for current band families, we are not publishing the invitation link on the public website. Parents who still need access can contact the Booster Board at board@bandoffury.com for a link to join, or use the invitation link included in the emailed version of this newsletter.
